How to design perfect stairs for a residence

The interior stairs are one of the most important part of the interior decoration. We can do it in many different styles but choosing the right style makes your design and space unique. It seems simple but designing the right kind of staircase is a bigger deal. Here are some tips for designing the stairs as per your space:

  • If you like rustic and contemporary style go for wooden, glass, concrete or metal. The current trend is lightness and transparency with metal structure of aluminum and glass.
  • The feeling of comfort comes from the number of steps. The depth and height of the steps matter for the feeling of comfort. Generally, straight profiles are safer than the spiral ones.
  • We can make the staircase wider or narrower depending upon the space availability. Always harmonize the stairs width with the space.
  • Materials plays a keen role while designing staircase. If you like classical staircase go for concrete. Concrete staircase can be covered with tiles or slabs of wood.
  • Wrought iron stairs fit generally into commercial spaces, but we can use wrought iron stairs in the garage or the attic near the entrance.
  • The banister is more visible than staircase itself because it is a supportive element. Harmonize it with the staircase material. Nowadays mostly stainless steel is being used.
  • For classical stairs, lacquered solid wood banisters can be mounted. For wrought iron stairs, the banister can be installed also from wrought iron.

So design it wisely giving considerations to the space, material, need and what exactly your client wants.
