CHANGE IN Construction PATTERN in a Post-Pandemic World: More off-site Modular Construction
After the pandemic hit the world no industry is left spared. Projects have been delayed and many businesses have struggled as a result.
Fortunately, things have gotten better. Construction related industries are recovering. Clearly this is not complete recovery but it is in encouraging momentum. The construction companies will definitely comeback to some version of normal but with a change. Some of the strategies will be adopted to make commercial space safe – not just from COVID-19, but from contagions in general.
In new construction projects workers will adhere to new standards to minimize the chances of illness to one another.
The change in construction pattern will definitely be seen. We will be seeing more off-site modular construction along with more technology driven work. So, in other words more tech and modular methods has been anticipated. This pandemic has brought a transition in construction methods.
Modular construction will keep workers from congregating and also will cut the cost on resources, transportation and labor on-site. This technique will become the ideal way of construction post-pandemic world.
